Travel with Your Animal at Universal Air: A Guide to Our Policy
At Universal Air, we understand that your animals are part of the family, and we’re committed to ensuring they travel safely and comfortably. This guide outlines our animal policy, ensuring a stress-free journey for you and your furry friend.
Travel Options
We’re happy to welcome your dog, cat or rabbit onto our flights. They will travel with you in the cabin, in their own soft, leak-proof carrier, with a combined weight (animal+ carrier) of up to 7kg / 16lb.
Travel Requirements
Your animal must be clean, healthy, and free from unpleasant smells. The carrier must be soft, malleable and are should fit under the seat, maximum dimensions 45 x 60 x 23cm. Remember your animal needs space to move around, and we may refuse you and your animal to travel if we think your carrier is too small.
Larger Animals
For larger animals, we would recommend that you contact a specialist pet shipping company.

Universal Air’s animal policy is designed with the welfare of your animals and the comfort of all passengers in mind. We prioritise your animal’s safety and comfort. For any queries or to make a booking, reach out to our dedicated customer support team.
Travelling with an animal may require additional check-in procedures. It’s advisable to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure to ensure enough time for all necessary formalities.
Yes, you can bring pet food and a small amount of water for your pet’s comfort during the flight. However, the carrier’s design should accommodate these items without causing discomfort to your animal or inconvenience to other passengers.
If your pet becomes anxious or disruptive during the flight, we recommend bringing items that can help soothe and comfort them, such as a favourite toy or a blanket. It’s also a good idea to acclimate your pet to the carrier before the trip to help minimise stress.
Universal Air may charge additional cleaning fees if an animal has an accident in the cabin that requires special cleaning services beyond the standard procedure. We recommend taking all necessary precautions to prevent such incidents.
Yes, for the comfort and safety of all passengers, Universal Air maintains a limit on the number of animals allowed in the cabin per flight. This policy ensures adequate space and accommodations can be made for each animal. Please contact our customer service for specific flight limits.
If your animal’s carrier does not fit under the seat, it may not be allowed in the cabin. To avoid this issue, please ensure the carrier dimensions comply with Universal Air’s specified maximum size before your travel date.
For safety and regulatory reasons, pets must remain in their carriers and in the footwell throughout the duration of the flight on Universal Air. Opening the carrier or allowing animals to roam freely in the cabin is not permitted.
Animals with medical needs require special attention. We recommend contacting Universal Air’s customer service in advance to discuss any specific requirements or documentation needed to accommodate your pet’s medical condition during the flight.
